meaningful month of september
Travel holds the remarkable ability to do more than just move us from one place to another. It has the magic to delight, engage, and refresh our senses. It gives us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of the world as we immerse ourselves in new environments and experiences. And through these new experiences, we discover another way of being - even if only for a few days or weeks, if we’re lucky.
But perhaps the most profound aspect of travel is that it gives us a golden ticket to connect with people far from our homes. While our differences may seem apparent at first, we soon bond over the things that unite us - maybe it’s a particular dish or a certain 90s TV show or love for a famous sports team.
Travel reminds us of our shared humanity. That we’re more alike than different. That we all wish for the same things: good health, love, belonging, acceptance, and peace.
In this special newsletter piece, Equinimity’s Barbara Collier recalls her time in Europe, the connections and experiences she shared with our global community, and the universality of finding comfort in nature.

What a wonderful and full month September was!
I had the honor and pleasure to travel to a beautiful place called Triban, Istria which is in the northwest area of Croatia - very close to Slovenia and Italy.
Kufer Travel hosted a 3 day retreat in which we explored the arc of healing from trauma to sacred wholeness. I was so very moved by the experience. There is something that is so special and heartfelt to me when someone has the courage to say they want something different for themselves and in their lives. I know this is not an easy journey. I know that a person got to that place from hardship, sorrow, loss, pain and often tremendous isolation. Fifteen courageous people showed up ready to jump in and do the hard work of vulnerability, trust, compassion for self, and integration. We shared, played, cried, and integrated together. It was a transformative experience for me as well.
After Croatia, I continued on to Berlin, where I had fun with our dear friend Lara D. She shared some of her favorite places in Berlin with me. It was a deep and meaningful time. On Friday 9/8, I got to meet three new horses from the Herd that she is part of. There, we settled into the abundance of the trees and foliage of the environment there as well as the horses. This was also a robust experience.
One of the last legs of the journey was to the UK; London and the moors of Yorkshire. Again having the incredible experience of meeting new people; vast and beautiful souls from all over this global community. I find it inspiring and astonishing that so many of us yearn for similar things.
After arriving back in the US, settling in and now back at work, I find that many memories and images are alive in my heart from those days. In the quiet moments throughout the day at the office, I come outside and either sit or stand with the horses. In such moments, I have been sharing with the horses thought-images from my travels and from the many lovely souls who met the horses through stories and felt sense.
It’s awe-inspiring to know that the energies and teaching of the Equinimity Herd and all the Beings of the Lands here have reached across the ocean to regions far from Arizona. Friends and Community can be found all over.
It’s heart-warming to feel the courage of people who show up for the preciousness of healing, community, acceptance, compassion, and belonging. Something so many of us yearn for and desire.
No matter what is happening in the world politically, environmentally, energetically, I know there are wonderful, caring, brave, courageous humans who want to get at the abundant love that is in their hearts.
