Meet Susan Vose

Picture
Susan brings the soul of the artist to her work as a life coach. She specializes in working with people who feel stuck or blocked. Integrating body-centered Somatic Experiencing® techniques, Susan leads her clients to find the inner flow state and move to a balance of inner creativity and external structure.

Susan offers help with:
  • Accessing your innate ability to heal.
  • Establishing a greater connection to your spiritual life.
  • Improving your mind/body connection.
  • Increasing your capacity to tolerate difficult emotions and sensations.

Susan’s role in your journey is adaptable to your needs. She can serve as:
  • An accountability coach to support you in creating goals and staying on track
  • Adjunct support to your mental and physical health care professionals
  • A new set of trained eyes to see how you may be blocking yourself

Susan believes that positive change is achieved by leaning into your own nature—what is already working for you. Whatever your needs, several focused sessions with Susan will give you the momentum to change from struggling to easing into your personal strengths. As you progress, you will find that:
  • Zeroing in on obstacles will help you turn them into steps to success.
  • Setting reasonable goals will help you progress.
  • Agreeing on a Circle of Accountability will keep you on track.

Susan is committed to making her sessions rewarding, whether in person or on Zoom. Rapport is a hallmark of her coaching.

Susan has worked with over 2,000 individuals and considers herself a master of transformation, drawing on a diverse set of approaches—like therapy animals (the gentlest of healers), her soul-based watercolor class, and Somatic Experiencing®—to help clients find their natural rhythm. In the future, Susan looks forward to working in community-based programs such as Palo Verde Behavioral Health’s Outpatient Program doing painting as processing and Equanimity’s Somatic Experiencing® Equine programs.

Susan is happy to report that she has integrated all of her loves—her three adult children, the Sonoran Desert, horses, watercolor painting, teaching, and volunteering—into her everyday life, all while working with the magic of relationships. She sees each day as a work of art and enjoys all forms of painting and expressions of nature at home.

It is important to recognize that relative safety in our modern environment is not universally accessible due to legacies of power and oppression. Histories of marginalization and colonization, systemic oppression such as racism, classism, ableism, and queer/trans phobia, and the continued legacies of patriarchy create conditions whereby our social and physiological survival capacities are misused to maintain oppression. We work to recognize that oppression is trauma. We practice in service of healing trauma on individual and collective levels so that we may all be free, and work toward responsibly stewarding right relationship to our planet, our times, and one another.
