Camille France

Horses have been woven through my life at various times since a child, always bringing a sense of joy, wonder and bringing courage to my life. I am an occupational therapist, certified in hippotherapy (the use of a horse's movement) and have also experienced the profound presence a horse brings. After suffering a spinal cord injury I was able to spend time with horses and this was like opening a window to my soul that had felt dormant at the time. I met Jeanie and Barbara from a friend of a friend of a friend and it feels like home being at Equinimity. I greatly enjoy the presence, community and heart centeredness of the organization. I joined the board in 2024.

Julie Ragland

As a lifelong lover of all creatures, Equinimity’s approach of exploring and honoring the interconnectedness of nature and humans is in close alignment with my personal vision to help build a world where all beings can live and thrive in liberation and love.

Originally from the Milwaukee/Chicago area, I’ve lived in Tucson for nearly 30 years and love our mountain landscape and the amazing biodiversity of the Sonoran Desert. I honor the people and creatures who have called this land home, and I work to decolonize myself through individual and collective learning and practice.

My identities as mother, activist, visual artist, poet, dancer, animal lover, capoeira martial-arts instructor, and breast cancer survivor allow me to connect with others in meaningful ways. I hold a bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology and Portuguese from the University of Arizona, am honored to serve on the board of Equinimity and The Drawing Studio, and am a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

When I’m not hanging with the herd at Equinimity, I am working on pet portrait commissions in my backyard art studio, leading discussions and discovery around Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access with Ragland & Wilhite Consultants, snuggling with our dog pack, or playing Mario Kart with friends & family.

At Equinimity, I’ve served on the Board of Directors since November of 2023, I do a weekly Monday midday cleaning & feeding shift, sometimes exercise the mares, and help coordinate the Expressive Arts offerings.
