Equinimity, Inc., Business Practices, Fee Structure, and Intention

At Equinimity we endeavor to take our lead from Nature. When we look out at Nature, we see interconnectedness and regenerative, reciprocal relationships between trees, plants, flowers, insects, small and large animals, and between each other. We see an on-going exchange of energy and resources all around.

We seek to continuously understand “what is enough'' for each of us. We strive to balance our personal needs and the gentle growth of our community in a way that works for all, mirroring nature’s model of interconnection, reciprocity and resource exchange.

In addition to receiving donations and contributions of goods and time, we aspire to achieve balance and equity through an internal means of support as well. We do this by offering our services through a sliding scale and practitioner giveback model. This approach is woven throughout our vision of making our offerings available to as many as possible.

The model is based on a three-tiered approach in which each service provider offers a sliding scale fee.*  A percentage of this fee is paid to the practitioner(s) and the remainder goes towards programs that are offered to the community at low-to-no cost.

Beginning in 2023, Asa and Susan's sliding scale fee for a 60-minute session will be $135-160.
Jeanie’s sliding scale fee will be $75-100 per hour.

With the 2023 rates, i
f you pay anywhere between $135-160, a giveback of 26-37% will go towards contributing to the support of others.

Any amount over $160 pays for you and offers a giveback of more than 37% contributing to the support of others.

Any amount under the sliding scale is welcomed and the balance is supported by donors, contributions, grants, and the practitioner giveback system.

As part of our dedication to supporting more Somatic Experiencing practitioners getting trained and certified, Barbara offers reduced rates* for SE students for the required individual and consult sessions.

*We offer these services in such a way on a case-by-case basis and with fiscal responsibility and sustainability for all.

After careful review of program costs, our regular class rates will go up in 2023 to the following:
Community Rate (adjusted) $10
Sustainer Rate (program value) $15
Supporter Rate (includes financial contribution to community) $25 & above

Please be assured that we have made every effort to keep this increase to a minimum and we remain committed to offering programs and classes that are accessible to all. We truly appreciate your continued support.

Beginning in October 2022, Equinimity has discontinued its refund policy to help keep class fees as low as possible.

It is important to recognize that relative safety in our modern environment is not universally accessible due to legacies of power and oppression. Histories of marginalization and colonization, systemic oppression such as racism, classism, ableism, and queer/trans phobia, and the continued legacies of patriarchy create conditions whereby our social and physiological survival capacities are misused to maintain oppression. We work to recognize that oppression is trauma. We practice in service of healing trauma on individual and collective levels so that we may all be free, and work toward responsibly stewarding right relationship to our planet, our times, and one another.
