I first met Barbara Collier when I was in an incredible amount of pain due to a ruptured disc in my lumbar spine. I had no idea what somatic experiencing was at the time but knew that I left my session with her feeling calmer and more in control of the pain. Since then, I have been slowly healing my back injury, bringing my body back into balance, literally and figuratively. The work that Barbara and the Equinimity team do is amazing, and I feel honored to be involved in the collaboration.
I have spent the past 20 years in private practice doing accounting and business consulting. After getting my Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Arizona, I began my career working for a large Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm. After a few years, I realized my favorite part was getting to work directly with small business clients helping them get useful information for the operation of their businesses. My focus is on helping people not be intimidated by accounting, spreadsheets, taxes, etc. I see accounting as a foreign language, and it is my job to help translate it.
After working with Barbara as a client of hers, I started helping Equinimity with their accounting and am now the treasurer of the corporation. I am excited to share my knowledge with new SE practitioners as they begin their journey into private practice.
I am originally from southern Mississippi and have lived in Tucson, Arizona since 1997 after meeting my husband on the internet (dial up!). We have one human child and one canine child and are deeply in love with both. Since the start of the pandemic, I have become totally obsessed with knitting.
