EQUINIMITY UNIVERSITY

"EqU"

At Equinimity, we believe that there is so much to learn from the world around us - from animals, nature, and people. Equinimity University (or EqU for short) was born out of our love of learning and wanting to share that with our community. Each month, we offer a unique, interactive class designed not only to educate but inspire and foster connection with one another.

This year, as we continue on the path of renewal, we are inspired to dive deeper into the subject of Healing Arts and explore different pathways to wellness. We look at our interconnectedness and our body’s innate wisdom guided by practitioners from diverse backgrounds.

Whether it’s the calming presence of animals or the rhythm that can be found in painting, there is palpable energy within us and around us that can bring us a step closer to healing.

Equinimity University welcomes you! We look forward to learning with you!

Healing with Prana
Wednesday, August 3rd from noon to 1 pm

Pranic healing is an ancient science and art of healing for the whole physical body that utilizes prana (otherwise called chi, ki, pneuma, mana, ruah or vital energy in other practices). Modern Pranic healing was founded by Master Choa Kok Sui. Unlike other forms of energy healing, Pranic healing is a non-touch intervention. This presentation will explore Twin Hearts meditation, an overview of the 11 major chakras, energetic hygiene, establishing personal energetic boundaries, sensitizing your body to healing, and the importance of giving and the practice loving kindness. There will be a full Twin Hearts mediation which incorporates movement before and after sitting to open and balance the chakras and to release excess energy to heal the Earth and all life.

About the presenter: Kelly A. Walch
Kelly A. Walch is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for energy healing and a curiosity about the esoteric spirituality. For over two decades, Kelly has explored many different pathways, such as, Transcendental Meditation, Reiki, Cellular Release Hypnotherapy, Pranic Healing, breathwork, a Religion Minor from Temple University, and shiny objects (crystals). The Power of Generative Listening

Wednesday, September 7th from noon to 1 pm
Presenter: Barbara Collier

With smartphones and the internet providing a million distractions at our fingertips, it has become increasingly challenging to be present in the moment and meaningfully listen to one another. In September, Barbara Collier will explore the transformational and generative power of listening. She will talk about Otto Scharmer’s Generative Listening - a process that allows us to engage with one another with a deep sense of acceptance and purpose. Together, we'll discuss how we can shift from ego to eco - from caring only about oneself to caring about the wellbeing of all, including oneself.

It is important to recognize that relative safety in our modern environment is not universally accessible due to legacies of power and oppression. Histories of marginalization and colonization, systemic oppression such as racism, classism, ableism, and queer/trans phobia, and the continued legacies of patriarchy create conditions whereby our social and physiological survival capacities are misused to maintain oppression. We work to recognize that oppression is trauma. We practice in service of healing trauma on individual and collective levels so that we may all be free, and work toward responsibly stewarding right relationship to our planet, our times, and one another.
